nice while it lasted.

Well it hasn't snowed since Christmas day and that was only for about 10 minutes. The snow is disappearing from the ground and that what remains has now turned into a horrible black slush so thought I would share with you these pics that my boy took round our place when it was pretty snow!

Snow snow snow..

Well I had been waiting so long for the snow and when it arrived this week I was so giddy with excitement little did I know how much it would affect my plans, firstly we were supposed to be going to a gig on Friday night held at The Whitworth Gallery with performances by Kathryn Edwards, Samson and Delilah and Butler Williams I had been looking forward to it all day, but the afternoon turned into one of them days where you lose control of time and then the snow was causing huge problems on the roads so we ending up not going as we were running seriously late and would of missed most of it, I was so gutted as I really wanted to see them all play. Though I guess the silver lining was that I was then able to go and see Where The Wild Things Are! It is the most beautiful film, the story is so sweet, the cinematography is stunning and the characters are brilliant. A real treat.
The second snow disruption was on Sunday when we decided to go to the farmers market to get some Christmas treats, it took us 30 minutes to get to the end of our road which normally takes about 2 mins. We soon realized it was a bad idea and decided to turn back taking us a full hour from leaving the house to getting back home, a round trip that normally takes about 10 mins. Just as we got home it started thundering and lightning which in all my life I have never experienced with snow.



This is my backdoor with a non wreath shaped wreath that my mum made for me, there is one on the front door too but the battery ran out on the camera before I had chance to take a picture.

Arcade Fire - Wake Up



I have picked this track by Arcade Fire this week as I can't hear it without thinking of Where The Wild Things Are. I have been looking forward to this film coming out for so long but still have not had the chance to go to see it yet, but am really hoping to go this week. (even though my mum is still waiting for me to take her to see New Moon.)

TK MAXX FTW!

We have been really late this year with our Christmas shopping but finally made a start at the weekend, I've been on the look out for some nice gift wrap but have been really disappointed with everything in the shops... until I came across these in TK MAXX. I knew I had to get them. My favourite is the blue one as I think it has a really vintage look, the label said V&A for Penny Kennedy so the print could well of been pulled from the archives.

The Watson Twins - Only You



I have been listening to The Watson Twins a lot lately, so was thrilled when I came across this track recorded for Sun Studio Sessions. I think it's so lovely.

I have been busy working on some stuff that I'm still unsure whether to reveal yet but I'm overdue a non music post so I may post something on it later this week. We also put the Christmas decorations up this week so might take some pics to show you too, (cos I know your really interested!)
